Known Moons–Dark Water Vajra

I’ve been pressing play at nearly random across the internet every day this week, looking for something to fill in the gaps of a somewhat anticlimactic new release Tuesday. No offense to a hand full of decent releases that I’ll compile a best of sometime this weekend on an 8track, but up till about five minutes ago I was geared up for a weekend of Tennis’ new album on repeat. In the course of three tracks, this is the kind of music that consumes listeners within the space of the first few minutes. Any figurative reference to a pleasant sense of drowning in the sound get all too literal when the ghost underwater vocals kick in over stretched out melodies and a persistent beat. As a free download or a cassette tape via personal correspondence, I can only hope this is only the beginning of Known Moons as a project. The official site, narrating the background and inspiration behind the work, a study abroad in Dharamsala, is definitely worth a look as well.
